Our Story
Founded in San Antonio, Texas in 2017, Los Alcaldes de Béxar strives to be a responsible voice of Texas history by producing educational materials to aid in the awareness of the individuals who played significant roles in the founding, growth and sustainability of San Antonio. Los Alcaldes de Béxar seeks to create learning and enrichment environments to bring the stories of these individuals to life. Los Alcaldes de Béxar is committed to authentic education and outreach.

Our Purpose
The purpose of the Los Alcaldes de Béxar Project is to produce a forensic portrait series of the alcaldes (mayors) that served the municipio of Béxar from 1731-1836, perform archival research to generate a canonical list of alcaldes and to research and publish biographical sketches of each alcalde.
