Patriot, Rebel or Neutral? University of the Incarnate Word Scholar,
Erika A. Haskins, will reflect on the life and leadership of Domingo Bustillo (1779-1854), a largely forgotten patriot who lived under four flags of Texas.

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month Los Alcaldes de Béxar, a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, will host a public history program that highlights the lives of early San Antonio alcaldes (mayors). The Los Alcaldes de Béxar Project promotes the education of those who made significant contributions to the economic and social sustainability of San Antonio from 1731 to 1836. About 62 alcaldes served during those 105 years and more than half of those men have been left out of the narrative in early Texas history.
This program will feature the portrait unveiling of alcalde, Jose Maria Salinas (1797-1851), the last San Antonio alcalde to serve before Texas independence, Los Alcaldes de Béxar exhibition, and a special presentation by Jesus "Frank" de la Teja, Ph.D., Regents’ Professor Emeritus and University Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Texas State University in San Marcos.
The event is free and open to the public. Los Alcaldes de Béxar, a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, will host an exhibition that highlights the lives of early San Antonio alcaldes (mayors) in celebration of the Hispanic Heritage Month.
The Los Alcaldes de Béxar Project promotes the education of those who made significant contributions to the economic and social sustainability of San Antonio from 1731 to 1836. About 62 alcaldes served the city of San Antonio during those 105 years and more than half of those men have been left out of the narrative in early Texas history.
Forensic portraits of the alcaldes will be displayed and include: Clemente Delgado (1760-1833), José Miguel Arciniega (1793–1840), Francisco Antonio Ruiz (1804–1876), Juan N. Seguin (1806–1890). Los Alcaldes de Béxar seeks to create learning and enriching environments to bring the stories and experiences of these people to life.

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, The Honorable Bexar County Clerk Lucy Adame-Clark, Bexar County Clerk’s Office, Spanish Archives & Special Collection will host a public history exhibition at the Presidio Gallery.
¡Herencia! highlights Hispanic heritage in San Antonio including a snap shot of some of the alcaldes of early San Antonio. On display are the framed forensic portraits of Clemente Delgado (1760-1833), José Miguel Arciniega (1793–1840), Francisco Antonio Ruiz (1804–1876), Juan N. Seguin (1806–1890), and original documents pertaining to their service.
